Outdoor terraces are among the most vulnerable parts of any home, as they are constantly exposed to rain, snow, and temperature fluctuations. When the flooring ages and the joints are compromised, moisture problems soon follow. This was exactly the case with this project of ours in the Balchik area.
The owners contacted Balchik Build to restore their terrace, which was in an extremely dilapidated state – with worn-out, compromised tiles and a potential risk of leaks.
To guarantee a long-lasting result, we performed a full cycle of construction and renovation activities, making no compromise on any stage of the preparation:
Dismantling and clearing: The work began with the complete removal of the old tiles, chipping away unstable sections, and transporting construction waste.
New foundation: To ensure a proper drainage slope and a perfectly level surface for the new flooring, we applied a leveling screed.
Waterproofing: We applied a reliable layer of waterproofing over the entire floor and in the skirting areas. This is critically important for preventing future water penetration into the slab.
Laying the new flooring: Once the base was protected, we proceeded with the installation of the beautiful new tiles with a wood-effect design. We also built a skirting board along the walls, which further protects the corners, then finished with precise grouting.
The difference between “Before” and “After” is huge. From an old and problematic area, the terrace was transformed into a beautiful, modern, and above all, secure space, ready to face the upcoming seasons without moisture issues.
