Gravel in the yard may look good as a temporary solution, but when it comes to daily car parking, it quickly shows its disadvantages – it shifts, creates ruts, and retains moisture. A client from the village of Plachi Dol approached us with this problem, wanting to replace the old gravel surface under their carport with something much more stable, clean, and durable.
The Balchik Build team designed and implemented a complete solution – the construction of a massive reinforced concrete pavement to ensure trouble-free and clean access for the car at any time of the year.
How did the work process go?
To ensure that the concrete will not crack or sink over time under the weight of the car, we strictly followed all technological requirements:
Preparation and reinforcement: After the terrain was leveled and prepared, we built the formwork. To protect the concrete from soil moisture, we laid specialized polyethylene foil. On top of it, we installed a strong steel reinforcement mesh, raised on spacers, to handle the loads from the vehicle.
Machine concrete pouring: For maximum speed and homogeneity of the mixture, we used a specialized concrete pump. This allowed us to deliver the concrete directly under the metal carport without contaminating the rest of the yard.
Spreading and leveling: During the pouring process, our craftsmen precisely spread and leveled the concrete mixture, ensuring a perfectly smooth surface and proper slopes for drainage.
The result: Cleanliness and convenience every day
After the concrete gained strength, the result is evident – a perfectly level, clean, and strong surface. Our client can now park their car under the carport easily and conveniently, without worrying about mud, dust, or shifted gravel. The added path along the parking space further facilitates pedestrian access to the house.
